Cycling midnight miles for charity

Sewell on the go Managing Director Patrick Sewell helped to raise £6,637.50 for a children’s charity by cycling almost 70 miles through the night.

The Nightrider London event on June 4 saw 2,500 cyclists complete the 67-mile route across London, all in support of Kidscape.

Patrick was part of a team of 14 alongside supplier Delta Refrigeration and started cycling at 11.30pm, burning 4,500 calories in 5 hours and 55 minutes.

Patrick said: “We started at the Olympic Stadium and cyled north, east, south and west.

“We travelled from Highgate and Hampsted Heath, to Chelsea and Kensington, then to The Mall and the West End, onto Greenwich and Crystal Palace, returning across Tower Bridge, through Tower Hamlets and back to the Olympic Park.

“The charity was set up to help children, trying to keep them free from bullying and abuse.

“I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who sponsored me.”
