Proposal for new forecourt in Beverley

Sewell on the go has submitted a full planning application for a modern convenience store, petrol forecourt and EV charging station on Swinemoor Lane, Beverley following consultation with local residents, businesses and ward councillors.

Plans include developing the former Evans Halshaw showroom on Swinemoor Lane into a modern, vibrant roadside convenience store and petrol forecourt, which will create new jobs and provide a new facility for people in the local area, as well as much needed electric vehicle charging points.

Sewell on the go Managing Director, Patrick Sewell, said:

“As a local business that’s been around for almost 150 years, it’s been important for us to get the views of the local community before we submitted our application, and we’ve adapted our plans as a result.

“We want to create a bright, modern convenience store alongside EV charge points and a filling station that’s open 24/7 for local people and commuters.”

Plans include:

  • A modern new convenience store with a range of everyday essentials and high-quality produce from local traders
  • Petrol pumps and several EV charge points
  • A car wash and valeting facilities
  • A new entrance
  • A new pedestrian crossing

If successful, plans would include closing the existing Sewell on the go site on Holme Church Lane and replacing this with a more energy efficient and modern facility.
