More than just a role in retail

We’ve been a Sunday Times 100 Best Company to Work For since 2009. This means we strive to be a great place to work so we can be a great, innovative company to deal with. We offer fixed shifts that you can plan your life around easily and are always looking out for passionate, enthusiastic people who go the extra mile!

We value our team members, which is why we choose to pay well above the National Living Wage. When you’re part of our team, you’ll also be part of the Sewell Group, which provides you with some excellent core benefits. These perks are designed to reward you in ways that suit your lifestyle.

Feedback from our people is really important to us. How can we know we’re doing the right thing for them, if we don’t ask?

Part of our culture is openess and approachability – our people know they can provide feedback either through our regular engagement surveys or directly to their managers or the senior team in a less formal manner.

We also believe it’s important for our people to know about how the business is performing and what’s going on in the industry so we have regular catch ups to share this information, which include:

–  Annual Convention
– Regular team social gatherings
– Team meetings
– Team community activities

Involvement in sustainable initiatives
We have numerous sustainable initiatives across our stores – from solar panels to wildflower meadows and even some bee hives!

There are opportunities to get involved in these – either ones we already have, or if you’ve got an idea you think might work.

Volunteering days
Each team member hs the option to complete up to five paid volunteering days each year – doing whatever you’d liketo, so long as it’s something that supports a local cause or charity.

We have relationships with the PATT Foundation where you can go and plant trees, or if you’d rather walk dogs, then you could spend the day at Hull Animal Welfare Trust.
